Our Editing/Proofreading Process

We do not just spell check! Hire The Best

Submission Review

The document is received from our client and is initially reviewed by the Submissions Manager to ensure that all the necessary details are received and the client’s instructions are clear. We then email you to confirm that your submission has been received and that the appropriate service has been correctly requested. In addition, we may request other details or clarification (e.g. what citation style is appropriate) should there be need to do so.

Subject Matter

A law professor who has knowledge in the relevant area of law will be assigned to review your document. They will write a short report which will accompany your document and be forwarded to the editor’s Selection Manager. The law professor will give their comments on, among other things, whether the work can be completed within the requested timeframe, whether they are able to be involved with the editing and proofreading of this thesis, and whether any additional information is needed before commencing.

Editor Is Designated

A law professor is assigned to your thesis. The Selection Manager will review all the notes that are on your submission and then assign a law professor who will henceforth take care of your thesis until it is returned to you.

Formatting And Printing

Our graphic designer will now professionally format your document, styling it for your university’s particular standards. They will also correct any formatting issues, such as unusual gaps in the footnotes, footnote-numbering issues or page-numbering problems. They will prepare the document according to printing industry specifications so that it’s ready to print, should you wish to send your file directly to a printer.

Congratulations

Your completed document is now back with the Administration team, who will contact you to finalise the release of your document. You are now confident to submit your thesis to your supervisors knowing that you have done everything possible to ensure that your thesis reflects your ideas and arguments.

Free Editing Review

Editing/profreading levels 2 and 3 only: After submitting your document, you may receive requests for changes from your supervisors or examiners before your work can be accepted. We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction; therefore, we will review any post-submission comments and implement the changes requested at no extra cost to you. Our academic writing style improves

Your Grade!

You wouldn’t expect a lawyer to edit and proofread a chemistry thesis, right? Likewise, we will not place your work in the hands of someone who is new to your field. If you are writing a law thesis, you need a law academic to proofread it, ideally someone who has the relevant academic knowledge as well as years of experience in research and writing to enhance your thesis and ultimately improve your grade.

Experience has taught us what makes a good thesis and what doesn’t. Our law professors have taught many law students, written many exams, essays, articles and reviews. They have also edited and proofread many theses on different topics. Over the years, our professors have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience covering a diverse range of legal disciplines.

We don't just spell check!

Editing & Proofreading Levels

Every document has distinct attributes. We offer three different levels of editing and proofreading services designed to meet specific needs. This method guarantees that every document is refined to the highest academic standards.

Standard: Includes checking for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors; ensuring proper verb tense and subject-verb as well as pronoun-noun agreements; rewording for clarity; fine-tuning vocabulary and word choice; eliminating repetition and redundancies; accurate referencing and citation; compiling a correct bibliography; and creating a table of contents.

Comprehensive: This option includes everything in the Standard package, plus enhancements to strengthen academic writing style, improvements to statements and arguments and professional formatting. It involves an editor with the relevant legal background who understands your topic, including various sections of law, legal terminology, and proper legal citation and referencing. Additionally, it includes an overall review by a second editor to provide a fresh perspective and ensure your document reaches a high level of refinement. Your supervisors or examiners may suggest changes. We will review their comments and make the necessary adjustments at no extra cost. Our free Editing Review is available within 30 days of your turnaround date.

Research and Rewrite: All the features from the Standard and Comprehensive packages; we remove plagiarism, create a table of contents and bibliography (if needed), or re-edit the existing ones. Plus, in-depth research on your subject matter. We meticulously revise and rewrite your document, integrating essential edits to clarify your arguments and bolster your statements. Enjoy the flexibility of requesting unlimited changes and reviews for 30 days after completion, ensuring your document is exceptional.

Don’t be tempted

Anyone who is fluent in English can be a proofreader, right? Well, actually, that’s quite wrong. Some people think they can proofread simply because they have strong English skills or they have a university degree. Don’t be tempted to send your LLM or PhD thesis, your essay, your research proposal, your conference abstract or your law review article to someone merely because they graduated from a university. Academic legal writing should only be proofread by a law professor, unless you only want a spell check.
